Lake Washington School District voters will soon consider two levy renewals on the February 10, 2026 ballot. These measures that directly shape the daily experience of every student in our schools. These levies are not new taxes; they simply continue the community-funded support that keeps classrooms strong, buildings safe, and learning opportunities equitable.
Read the districts information on these two levies here.
The 2026 measures renew funding for essential programs, staffing, technology, and building upkeep—areas where state funding falls short. Together, they ensure students have the tools, support, and environments they need to thrive, whether they’re preparing for college, technical training, or entering the workforce.
This levy continues funding for critical student services and staff positions that the state does not fully support. This levy accounts for 16% of the districts overall operating budget. Key Benefits:
This levy keeps LWSD’s learning environments modern, safe, and equipped for the future. Key Benefits:
These levies stay entirely within our community and directly benefit LWSD students. They expire every four years and must be renewed to continue funding. As property values and new construction increase, the tax rate per household has historically decreased—meaning the community supports more students with proportionally less individual burden over time.
From classroom technology to mental health support, from building upkeep to specialized learning programs, these levy renewals sustain the foundation of excellence our community expects. They ensure that every student—across every school—has access to the opportunities and support they need to succeed.
Election Day is February 10, 2026. Ballots will be mailed January 21, with drop boxes opening January 22.
